FIELD NOTE ·
Build a useful eyewear record
Front, profile, hinges and measurements make frame photographs more informative.
Use three viewpoints
Start with the frame from the front, then photograph each side. Keep the camera level so perspective does not exaggerate the width. Add close-ups of the hinges, temple ends and visible markings. Use soft daylight and a plain background that keeps transparent edges visible.
Record the measurements
Write down any size numbers marked on the frame and explain where you found them. If you add your own measurement, state the method and unit. Frame dimensions do not fully describe comfort: bridge shape, adjustments and lens configuration matter separately.
Keep adjustments separate
Note known repairs, replaced parts and adjustments without guessing about work you cannot verify. A photograph does not establish optical suitability or authenticity. For fitting or lens questions, consult an appropriate eyewear professional and keep that advice distinct from the visual collection record.
