FIELD NOTE ·
A hoodie photo set that explains the whole piece
Front, back, construction and condition: make an apparel post useful beyond a single graphic.
Begin with the silhouette
Lay the hoodie flat without pulling it into an artificial shape, or photograph it on a simple hanger. Include the full front and back with the hem, cuffs and hood visible. Use even light and keep the camera approximately parallel to the garment. A styled image can accompany the record, but it should not replace a clear view of the entire item. Keep flat-lay measurements separate from any dimensions supplied by a retailer or previous owner.
Connect details to the garment
Add the print or embroidery, relevant seams, closures and care labels. Show wear with one wider frame locating the area and a closer frame explaining it. Record whether measurements were taken flat and without stretching. Label the unit and the exact points, especially for sleeves with a dropped shoulder or an unconventional seam arrangement.
Publish only what belongs in public
Remove packaging labels, receipts with names and unrelated personal objects from the frame. Use your own photographs and describe the actual piece you photographed. Do not combine catalogue images and personal images without explaining their roles. Tags can describe the visible garment, colour and technique; they should not imply provenance or authenticity that has not been established.
