FIELD NOTE ·
Separate a public photo archive from private records
A simple collection index can connect your photographs while keeping documents and personal details off the public page.
Give the object a private reference
Choose a simple internal reference for your own files and use it consistently across photographs and notes. It does not need to contain a name, order number or purchase location. Keep the original image files separately from public exports. Record the date and the visible condition so a later photograph can be understood without relying on memory or a social media caption.
Separate documents from images
Receipts, shipping labels and correspondence can contain personal details even when they seem incidental. Keep them in a private folder with appropriate access rather than attaching them to a public photo post. When you need a public detail crop, check reflections and the surrounding background as well as the main subject. Removing metadata does not hide text visible in the photograph.
Publish a limited, useful version
A public set can contain the complete item, relevant details and a factual condition note. It does not need your address, purchase account or a private conversation to be useful. Describe uncertainty clearly and retain your own unedited records. The journal is independent of Chrome Hearts; a published photograph does not verify ownership, authenticity or a sale offer.
