Small hardware, photographed as a sequence

Show a closure or attachment clearly with wider context, matching angles and unforced handling.

Show the attachment in place

Begin with the full item and a view of the hardware where it is attached. This establishes scale and explains its function. Then move closer while keeping enough surrounding material in the frame to show the connection. Use soft light from the side if the polished surface reflects the camera. A slightly different angle often reveals more than a stronger flash.

Record both accessible sides

Photograph the accessible front and reverse without dismantling or forcing the mechanism. If you can safely show an open and closed position, label each frame. Do not infer strength, internal construction or material quality from an image. Note a known repair or replacement as part of the description, and leave an uncertain component identified as uncertain.

Write a short observation

A useful caption says what is visible, which part is shown and whether the image records wear or an alteration. Keep measurements and units together. Avoid adding an authenticity verdict based on a logo or screw shape. Share only your own images or material you are authorised to publish, and check the background for shipping labels or other private information before submitting.
